Michelle Henderson has always had a passion for both cooking and helping others. In 2020, due to COVID and the growing needs in the Minneapolis community, Pastor Monica decided to serve free meals during the week to assist those struggling. Michelle, who had recently graduated from the Life Center's Discipleship Class and had a background in catering, stepped forward to put her passion into action as the first Kitchen Coordinator intern at the Life Center. She worked tirelessly to prepare and serve over 100 meals daily, six days a week.
Years earlier, God had given her a dream of one day owning her own restaurant. And it was Pastors Chris and Monica who taught her the importance of being faithful and not despising small beginnings. With their encouragement and guidance, in 2022, Michelle took a leap of faith and opened her own restaurant, Lil Mable's Table, at the Grant House Hotel.
Lil Mable's Table is a warm and welcoming space that serves up homemade, Southern-style comfort food with a modern twist. The menu features classic dishes such as fried chicken, mac and cheese, fried okra, catfish and collard greens. One of the things that makes Lil Mable's Table special is the care and attention that goes into every dish. Michelle sources ingredients from local farmers and prepares everything from scratch. As a result, her food is not only delicious, but it's also healthy and nourishing.
If you're ever in the area, we highly recommend checking out Lil Mable's Table in Rush City, Minnesota! It's a true reflection of Michelle's passion for cooking and her love for helping others by providing delicious and nourishing meals.
